FAQ’s Related with Qatari Passport Holders

Whether you need an invitation letter depends on the type of visa you wish to apply for. Although some Russian visas require applicants to submit supporting documents issued by Russian entities (that is the case, for example, for the traditional paper tourist visa) there are others that are easier to obtain.

The Russian online visa (or eVisa) does not require an invitation letter. In fact, minimum documentation is needed, like copies of an eligible passport. Fortunately, the eVisa is available to Qatari citizens, who can complete the application online.

No foreign citizen can obtain one, including Qatari travelers. However, this doesn’t mean that getting a visa for Russia is difficult or must be done well in advance.

The eVisa for Russia, for example, grants great flexibility to Qatari visitors. The extremely rapid processing times allow applicants to submit their request online as late as 4 days prior to departure. Although travelers won’t be able to apply at the border, they will still be able to lodge a last-minute application.

The eVisa is also a completely online visa. This means that Qatari nationals can apply for their electronic permit from anywhere in the world as long as they have a device with access to the internet. No need to return to Qatar to visit an embassy.
