Citizens of Tunisia are required to obtain a visa for Russia in order to visit the country. However, the type of visa required will depend on the purpose of the stay, as well as the region of Russia travelers from Tunisia plan to visit.
In order to obtain a visa to visit most parts of the country, Tunisian citizens are currently required to complete a Russia visa application online before presenting it alongside supporting documentation at a Russian embassy or consulate. However, this will change in the near future when a Russian eVisa for Tunisian citizens is implemented for travel to the whole country, expected to be from 2021. The introduction of a Russia-wide electronic visa is being preceded by pilot eVisa programs for specific regions in Russia, including a Russian Far East eVisa which is currently available for Tunisian citizens.
Although an electronic Russian visa from Tunisia for travel to the whole country is yet to be implemented, at the moment it is possible to obtain an eVisa for Russian Far East regions for Tunisian citizens. Tunisia is one of the 18 countries whose citizens are currently able to apply for this type of Russian visa online through a simple application, eliminating the need to obtain a tourist invitation online and apply for a visa from an embassy or consulate.
The Far East Russian eVisa for Tunisian citizens allows holders to visit the following extreme eastern regions in the country for tourism, business or humanitarian purposes:
- Primorsky Krai
- Kamchatka Krai
- Sakhalin Oblast
- Amur Oblast
- Khabarovsk Krai
- Chukotka Autonomous Okrug
- Zabaykalsky Krai
The Far East Russia online visa for Tunisian citizens allows a maximum stay of 8 days in eastern territories and is valid for a total period of 30 days from the date of issue. It is possible to apply for the Far East Russian visa from Tunisia between 20 days up to 4 days before the intended date of entry to the country.
When traveling to Russia with the eVisa, Tunisian citizens are required to exit the country from a port of entry of the same region they arrived in. If you wish to travel outside of Eastern regions to visit other parts of the Russian Federation, it will be necessary to apply for a tourist visa for Russia in advance, from an embassy or consulate.

Those who wish to visit regions of Russia outside of the eastern territories are currently required to obtain a tourist visa for Russia for Tunisian citizens from an embassy or consulate. The Russian Visa from Tunisia allows Tunisian citizens to spend up to 1 month in most parts of the Russian Federation for a holiday.
Before being able to submit a Russia visa application for Tunisian citizens, there are some steps to obtain documentation that applicants must first take. Travelers will first need to obtain a tourist visa for Russia online, then complete a Russia visa application on the website of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
Applicants are then required to make an appointment at the nearest Russian embassy or consulate in order to submit the form alongside the necessary supporting documentation.
Visa Requirements for Tunisian Citizens
Obtaining a tourist invitation is the first and most important Russian visa requirement. In order to do so, it is first necessary to carefully plan the stay in Russia and compile a full travel itinerary, make accommodation bookings and book tickets for any attractions and events the traveler is planning to visit in Russia. It is then possible to request a tourist invitation from a hostel, hotel or tour operator where the traveler has made a booking.
The number provided on the tourist invitation can then be used to complete a Russia visa application for Tunisian citizens. Applicants are also required to complete the online form with personal and passport information and fill in details of their travel itinerary. Once completed, it is necessary to print and sign the Russian visa application before it can be presented at an embassy or consulate.
Documents Required for Tunisian Citizens
When traveling to an embassy or consulate to submit the completed Russia online visa application for Tunisia, it is necessary to provide the following supporting documentation:
